{Upcycled} Candle Jars to Candy Jars

Last week while going through my reader I saw this Pickle Jar Project post by the amazingly talented ladies at eighteen25 and fell instantly in love! I loved their idea and had all of the stuff to make them except for the primer to cover the lids. Grrrr!

Then I remembered that in addition to every glass jar that comes through my house,
I also save glass candle jars! I knew they would come in handy one day;)

Booyah!

So I took a couple of these Dollar Tree Candlesticks...

a few of these candle jars with lids...
(Better Homes and Gardens filled candles from Walmart)

Added a little of this fan-freaking-tastic crafty glue...

And TA-DA!!!!!
Fancy candy jars from stuff already in my craft stash...gotta love FREE, right?

I used some Edible Easter Grass to make a nest inside one
and filled it with mini Cadburry Eggs...my favorite candy of the season.
YUM!

Hello Lovelies!

I filled the other two with Jelly Beans and Peanut Butter Cups,
and tied spring colored ribbons around each jar.

I love that these are completely neutral
and can be used for any holiday just by changing out the candy and the ribbon!

These would also be cute for a baby shower, birthday party, bridal shower, etc.

As you can see I left the jar with a different lid as it was,
so I could have a little height variation.

They add such a fun pop of Spring color!
I {LOVE} Color.

Yeah, so I know that my print there is not "Eastery",
but I LOVE it and the colors just make me so happy.
Plus I will be SNAPPING alot of photos on Easter, so I think it fits;)

Here is what the entire top of my Buffet looks like...notice how everything is pushed in a good 8 inches? Yeah, that's because of my very mischievous curious 18 month old.

Here are the posts for the other items in this photo:

Oh, and I am sure you want to know:
The jars are not that full anymore, and for some reason my pants no longer fit.
Hmmmmm, wonder how that happened?

Muffin Tin Advent & Activities

This is our Advent calendar this year:

It was a gift from one of my sisters last Christmas and I just love it!

Since the boy is too young for daily candy and tiny things, this year the treats are all for the girl. Each day she gets a chocolate and a couple Silly Bandz...she LOVES them!

Next year I plan to make the boy his own Muffin Tin Advent so that they each have their own with age appropriate things inside.

Something else that I am doing is putting a slip of paper with an activity for the day. Little things like watching a Christmas movie or playing a board game and then bigger things like going rollerskating or visiting Santa:) For a few of the days I have her open a little activity gift.

This is one of the activity gifts...Did you make these things as a kid? I did and when I saw them at the Dollar Tree I had to scoop them up! I found the tin and key chains there as well. I don't remember how to do this, so I will have to google it:)

Nostalgic.

This mug was also at the Dollar Tree and is for the night we go looking at lights. She can have her own little mug of HoCho(Gilmore Girls reference) while we drive around.

Christmas sun catchers! She gets to open these tomorrow.

Tinkerbell is a favorite around here, so I had to get this:)

Do you do things like this during Advent?

DT Hurricanes

What do you do when it's 2am and you are up with a sick kid?

CRAFT!

I made my daughter a bed on the couch and turned on a Christmas movie for her while I crafted in the kitchen! When else was I going to have time to do this?

Fuzzy Slippers? CHECK!

3 Hurricane Vases for about 6 bucks!

I saw these fluted vases awhile back at the Dollar Tree and thought that they looked so silly and would look so much better with a stand.

After that I saw this genius craft on about a thousand different blogs and was like "DUH!" I bought the supplies several weeks ago and just hadn't had time to make some until my late night with a sick little the other night.

I also made some with the straight vases and a short candle holder from the DT as well. I love them. My daughter said that they looked like I bought them from a store that way:)
God bless 7 year olds!

Linking up to these blog parties:)

Note: Usually I put a link to where I got the idea for something from, but this was on SO many blogs and I have no idea which one I saw it on first. So if you were the first one ever to think of this idea please let me know and I will give you credit:)
