So yesterday Brooklyn was rambling on and on and on......she does this every day. She talks about stuff that happened at school, a show on TV, our neighbors, our family, a book that she read recently, a dream that she had or an entirely made up story......basically she just talks(or sings) ALL day long.
Anyways, I was not feeling very good and was lying on the couch trying to tune her out so I could take a nap and then I heard her say that her tooth was bendy. I bolted upright and asked her to show me what she meant. She came over and sure enough she has her first loose tooth...I wanted to cry! This means that my baby is loosing her first baby tooth and will be getting in her "for the rest of her life grown-up teeth". In my head I yelled "NO! You are my baby and you are not allowed to grow up!!!" But what I said was more like "Oh wow Baby Llama! You are loosing a tooth! Go show Daddy!"
She ran into the other room to tell her Daddy the news and I sat and composed myself. I heard Jon cheer for her and then he told her about the tooth fairy. I could hear the excitement in her voice as she asked him questions, and then she ran down the hallway to tell me the amazing new information she had just learned. Then as a family we discussed whether the tooth fairy is a man or a woman. Let me know what you think about that one, will ya?
I didn't think this would be a big deal to me, but it is. This is the tooth that I cried with her over as it broke through her gums, the one that I cleaned with a washcloth before I would put her in her crib, and before long it will be under a pillow waiting for the tooth fairy......**sigh**
As if that all weren't enough, today I looked into her mouth and saw that her permanent tooth is already coming in behind the loose baby tooth.
They just grow up way too fast.

Woodpecker...
So we have this woodpecker that has pecked it's way into our attic and now lives there. It is so annoying! It lives right above our office and rustles around and pecks at stuff while we are working. For awhile a quick pound on the ceiling would send the bird flying out of our house, but I think it has gotten used to that by now.
Today we went by Big 5 and bought a BB Gun!!!I keep laughing to myself, because all I can picture is a scene from the movie "Failure to Launch" where this woman wants to get rid of a mocking bird that sits outside her window and makes all sorts of annoying sounds. She meets someone who has a BB gun and he brings it over. She pumped the gun too many times, shoots the bird, they think they killed it and the guy gives it mouth to mouth.......Oh man! Such funny stuff! I will not be giving this woodpecker mouth to mouth.
So if you drive by our house and see my husband standing there with a gun pointed at our house, he is just waiting for the darn bird to come out so he can give it a little sting and make it go away!

Seriously?
Yesterday...2 armed robberies 8 hours apart...across the street from each other...1 mile from where we live. Sirens whizzing past...helicopters flying overhead...me locking my doors and praying that my dog would actually do something if someone broke in. It was great.
