Ouch.
Look at how huge that egg is!
Pretty sure it's a double yolk.
Yep, those eggs are green.
We have Ameraucana's and they are nicknamed the "Easter Egg Chicken"
because they lay different colored eggs: green, blue, pinkish brown, etc.
Each hen has her own color. Notice the variations in the colors?
6 of our new babies are also Ameraucana's and I am hoping we get a new color:)
I love having chickens!

Funny! I've never heard of those kids of chickens. That's so fun you have your own chickens too!
That's such a fun post, Amy! What beautiful eggs!

AMY, I am so jealous. I wish I could have my own chickens. Home grown eggs are the BEST, and yours look so yummy. How long have you been growing chickens? DO you use them just for eggs, or also the meat?
Have a wonderful day!!!
Also if you get a chance, hope you can come over to see how I make the EASIEST chicken curry ever, using rotisserie chicken, and enter to win your own MAGIC Chicken Curry Mix.
Hugs, Bella :)
New to your blog - have to say those are my favorite type of Chickens!
That's so cool, I never knew that!
Anna :)
Love this post, Amy. I had no idea about the different colored eggs. So cool!
Those eggs are beautiful..I wouldn't like to be the chook that laid the big one though..like giving birth to a 10lb baby!
We have some of those too! Just this spring we have had a new one start laying BLUE eggs! But most of ours also lay green ones. But we do have about 40 pullets that will start laying late summer/early fall about 10 of which are Ameraucana's- I hope we get some new colors too! Good luck with your different colors!! Hope you get some blue ones :)
