{Upcycled} Baby Shower Sugar Scrub Favors

Well hello there everyone!
I have been gone for quite awhile and I just want you all to know how much I appreciate those of you who have stuck around as well as you new readers(Thank you Pinterest!). I am almost 19 weeks along with pregnancy #3, and though I am feeling better, I am still SO stinking tired! Blah! Add to that, the Internet on my laptop was not working and that left me with no time for blogging. I am determined to come back though because I have missed the blogging community and my blog friends so much.

I have some new projects in the works,
but for now I will share some things from the summer that never got posted.

I am a big fan up upcycling and repurposing and these
Upcycled Baby Food Jars to Tealight Holders are one of my favorite projects.
I just love the simplicity of them as well as how little they cost to make.
Cute + frugal = Happy ME!

This is another of my favorite projects: Super Skintastic Sugar Scrub.
Not only does it make my skin smooth and moisturized, but it is cheap and easy to make.
I'll bet you even have all the ingredients in your kitchen right now!

For my friends' baby shower favors we combined these two projects into:

Sugar Scrub Baby Shower Favors!
Get it? Baby food jars as favors for a BABY SHOWER?!? Ha ha ha!
I know...genius, right?

Scrub out the baby food jars really well and let them dry.

Scrub the lids.

Prime and paint the lids.
Mod Podge strips of fabric around jar and tie on ribbons.
Also, remove marking pen before assembling. *Wink Wink*

We used a few of them to hold candy as a cute decoration.

I made a large Sugar Scrub for the preggo (it is SO good for that stretching skin)
and we displayed them all on this adorable vintage baby scale.

Okay, so theres my first real post in months!
What did you think? ;)

It's Spring in my dining room!

I am loving the signs of spring popping up around here!

My husband pruned some of his parents fruit trees the other day and brought home the branches to throw in the burn pile. I rescued some and brought them into the house.

Fruit tree blossoms in a mason jar(actually a spaghetti sauce jar).
Yes please!

I love the simplicity of this...so sweet and pretty.

The table runner is two placemats placed side by side.

and some throwaway branches from pruning = a FREE tablescape for Spring.

It's even pretty from down here! ;)

Happy Spring!

Flower Dresser

My sister in law Cindy gave me this amazing dresser for FREE! After hubby brought this home for me I was dying to go to Home Depot to pick out my paint.
I love hardware stores!

Isn't she gorgeous? I love the different sized drawers and that the top two are curvy while the rest are more square. I am planning to use this piece in my dining area as a buffet and to store some craft supplies.

This is my favorite little detail...there are three carved flowers on the front!
One on each side and one in between the top drawers.

I am in love!

I took the girl to Awana and then went to Home Depot. I was literally giddy while I walked up and down the aisles waiting for my paint to get mixed.

When the guy opened the can to put the little dab of color on the top of the lid
I thought, "Is it weird that I want to rub that color all over me?"

Seriously? Yep:)
I wanted to dip my hand into the paint and smear it all over me.

I am revealing all sorts of freak-ness right now,
so feel free to click "next" on your reader.

I'm sorry.

Fall Tealights

Remember these?

that I made a few weeks ago.

I still love them so much...
when I walk by and see them all glowy and adorable it makes me smile.

My dear friend Tammi made her own version!

She made Fall Tealights using baby food jars, paint, mod podge and ribbon.

The brown ones are my favorite...I love how rich the brushstrokes are.
I feel all cozy and warm just looking at them:)

Go check out her post for more pictures of these cuties!

I am going to have to scrounge up some more baby food jars
to make some of these for myself.
Love you Tammi!!!

Halloween Buddies

I don't know what else to call them. Any ideas?

Before you help with a name
you might want to know what they are!

Yep, they are Puff containers!
My son goes through one of these every 1-2 days, so they stack up pretty quick. I used to just recycle them and then one day I peeled off the label and took a look at it and realized that it could be made into characters!!! There are so many possibilities!

See?
Is your mind just racing with ideas of what to make
with this blank canvas?
I just love the shape of them.

Meet Lynette. She is a friendly witch.
She has fun googly eyes with eye makeup on that I found at the Dollar Tree.

Meet Stretch. He was VERY difficult to paint. Ha ha ha!

Meet Spazzy Mazzy.
I wanted something purple(it looks blue, but it's really purple) with googly eyes, so here he is.

Meet Langston. He is awesome.

Meet Frankie! He is my favorite...I pretty much adore him.

Here they are all together...My baby puff containers turned into my Halloween Buddies!!!
I don't claim to be an artist,
but I think they came out pretty darn cute.

Wouldn't these make adorable gifts? Fill them with goodies and give them to teachers and neighbors. They would make a great "Boo!" (If you haven't heard about "Boo"ing your neighbors you should google it)

I am linking up to these parties, and am participating in Get Your Craft On!
